Several schools in Bengaluru and the Kemp Gowda International Airport (KIA) recently received emails with bomb hazards that were found to be Hocx for investigation.
On 13 June, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which oversees security at Bengaluru Airport, received a danger email from Chitrakalas_Gopalan@autlook.com. Sandesh, claiming to be from “Madras Tigers”, “warned the human iEDS to explode near the prayer chambers of the torso/airport and demanded immediate withdrawal.
Email also claimed that explosive projector and pipe bombs were installed in the airport premises. As nothing was found from comprehensive discoveries, the authorities declared the danger a deception and registered a cedar through the Bial Police Station.
Similarly, on Monday, many Bengaluru schools received bomb danger emails. As the Police Commissioner, Kumar Singh confirmed that the threats were after comprehensive discoveries. The targeted schools were located within the boundary of Kumbalgod, RR Nagar and Kalsipalya police stations.
According to police sources, these emails appear to be associated with the same dangers sent to schools across the country in Hasan, Udupi and other states across the country. Sources said the FIR would be registered and investigation will be initiated to detect the origin of the email and identify those responsible for the coordinated Hocx campaign.
It can be remembered that a postgraduate medical student in Mangaluru was recently arrested for orchestrating the risk of fake bombs to avoid performing a scheduled seminar.
Between 2022 and 2024, Karnataka reported 169 fake bomb threats or emails, most of them (133) in the city of Bangalore. The police arrested 10 people and charged them in three such cases.
