'Bangladesh was never a friend, everyone should come together to fight illegal immigration': Tipra Motha founder Prideot Kishore Non-Tribhuj | Bharat News

In a clear dialect to reach non-tribals, especially Bengalis, which build about 70 percent of Tripura population, Tipra Motha Supremo Protyo Kishore Manikya Debarma said on Friday that all the residents of the state should come together to combat illegal migration.

“I want to tell the people of Tripura something that Bangladesh was never our friend. In the 80s, in the early 90s, early 2000s … our tiprasa youths were invited and were provided with weapons, camps. Migration,” Debarma said in an audio message.

He further alleged that illegal migrants from Bangladesh changed their names to get Aadhaar card and then compromised in other states not only in Tripura but also in Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, etc.

“When I am talking against illegal Bangladeshis, I am not speaking against you (non-cutters). I am speaking against those who enter India and try to weaken their country. Nokra can not fight this fight alone; I need your help … We can only separate our personal differences when we move forward to save our next generation.”

A few days ago, Debbarma urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to follow the Bihar model of amendment of the electoral rolls in Northeast, especially Tripura. He also said that the party will demand a meeting with ECI officials in Delhi to discuss the matter.

Celebration offer

Citing the report of a popular TV channel, Deberma said that ECI conducted a local survey in Bihar and revealed that many illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar had become voters among others.

“The same exercise should be conducted in Northeast India … I fail to understand why Bihar is important and not for the Northeast ECI. Are we not even the children of India? Tipra Motha is not even the MLAs to write the EC here too. I request all my Northeast brothers and sisters to put the same pressure on your regional parties!” Deberma wrote on her social media page.
