Police said on Friday that Bangladeshi woman infiltration and her Indian lover have been arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days in Sepahijla district of Tripura.
The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday detained the pair in Kamatna and later handed them over to the police.
The woman, who hails from Bogra district in Bangladesh, allegedly entered Tripura illegally earlier this week. Her lover is a resident of Bidar district in Karnataka.
The Bangladeshi woman had previously allegedly worked in beauty parlors in Mumbai and Bangalore.
A police officer said, “She fell in love with the man while staying in Bengaluru. Later, she went back to Bangladesh and then illegally returned to Tripura without any valid document and returned to Bangalore,” said a police officer.

The man also came to Tripura to take him back to Bangalore and stayed at a residence in Madhupur. Police said he was arrested before leaving for Bengaluru.
The police have registered cases under the Passport Act, Foreigners Act, and the Jurisdiction of India, 2023, and said that they would arrest all those involved in the case.
