PNAR is an important cultural festival celebrated by the PNAR community in Meghalaya. It translates to “remove the plague” or “chase the demon of the cholera”; It is a festival that tries to call out evil spirits, diseases, misfortune and call for blessings for a good crop and communal prosperity.

The festival is observed annually in July, with the monsoon season, after the period of sowing, and in 2025, it is being observed from 11 to 14 July.
