A nationwide strike by 10 trade unions to protest against the alleged central government’s alleged workers, anti-forms and pro-corporate policies created mixed reactions in Tripura on Wednesday. There was no violence during the bandh from anywhere in the state.
BJP leader Papia Dutta said that people rejected the Bharat Bandh call. “If we look at the history of the Left Front in the world, there are movement, bandh, meetings and processions organized by them only for development. State CM Manik Saha is watching progress. We did not have to ask people to open shops on the streets or drive vehicles.”
Activists of Indian Majd said that the vehicle movement was normal everywhere. A pro -government trade union worker said, “We opposed Bandar. Vehicles are running like other days normally at various places like Udaipur, Kailashhar and others.”
Left front leaders and left-handed City said that people responded to the bandh by failing the ruling party’s “efforts to suppress the movement”.
Former minister Manik Dey said, “People are respectable to democracy. We will continue our movement in the coming days as well.”

Veteran CPM leader Pabitra Kar said that many places had threats to the ruling BJP and Tipra Motha. The former Deputy Speaker said, “Still people came and joined the protest.”
Citu leader and former MP Shankar Prasad Dutta said that despite the alleged threats given by the ruling party since Tuesday, the person in the state was successful. “In Tripura, people have responded to the bandh. We paid attention to uninhabited roads in both the city and villages around 10-11 pm, when a large crowd appears on normal days. Nearly 80 percent of public transport vehicles did not hit the streets today,” he said.
