Bihar State Commission for Schedule Castase has allegedly issued notice to RJD President Lalu Prasad for insulting Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
The Commission has given 15 days to respond to the former Chief Minister, warning that failure to do so can give rise to legal proceedings.
talking to PTIBihar SC Commission Deputy Chairman Devendra Kumar said that a notice was issued to Llu Prasad, seeking clarification on the alleged incident.
He said, “The Commission has given 15 days to respond to Prasad and warned that the failure in doing so can take action under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act,” he said.
The controversy erupted after a video after a video after a video during Lalu Prasad’s 78th birthday celebrations earlier this week.

Responding to the notice, the son of Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashvi Yadav and Lalu Prasad rejected the move as politically motivated.
He said, “There have been so many cases of atrocities against Dalits that the Commission has ignored. But ever since we oppose the BJP, we are subject to a scared strategy,” he said.

He made fun of the commission’s process, claiming that a copy of the notice was not yet officially received.
He said, “The round -making drafts include several grammatical errors. We have also learned that the letter has been withdrawn twice for improvement. We will appropriately reply that the Commission will end the commission’s format and formally send it,” he said.
Yadav also targeted the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar, alleging using the state commissions as forums for political bias of the upcoming assembly elections.
He said, “Recently formed commissions, relatives of top NDA leaders – have been appointed from JD (U). Many competent persons in Bihar were ignored,” he alleged.

He further claimed that wives of retired bureaucrats close to the Chief Minister were adjusted to these commissions, and the children of such officials had now established consultation firms working with various government departments.
“Clearly, unconscious Chief Minister and his NDA colleagues have called a ‘Jamai Commission’ in Bihar-where the children of coalitions, relatives, and coalition leaders are being assigned positions,” said Tejasvi.
