Vande Bharat Trains: Vande Bharat Express trains have revolutionized rail transport in the country. Since its establishment in 2019, Vande Bharat vehicles have not only reduced the time of travel between two distances, but have also improved connectivity between cities.
Developed by Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF), these semi-high-speed trains are running with full businesses. Currently, 144 Vande Bharat Express trains are running across the country. The National Transporter is also ready to roll some more trains in the ongoing financial year.

On Wednesday (July 23), in the written reply to the Lok Sabha, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the introduction of train services including Vande Bharat Express services is on Indian Railways, are subject to traffic justification, operational feasibility, etc.
Vaishnav also said that spending on the infrastructure related to Vande Bharat trains is part of the expenses on the overall maintenance and upgradation of the railway and is done under both revenue and capital segments.
