Accusing him of “a shame in the nation”, the BJP on Wednesday targeted the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, which for the Foreign Minister’s comment in a meeting with Jaishankar’s Chinese President Xi Jinping.
BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said that Jaishankar held a meeting with Xi to express the country’s “concern over the Pakistan-pacified Pahgam terror attack”.
“We all know how Rahul Gandhi used to hold secret meetings with Chinese officials for breakfast or whatever the nation’s agenda in Delhi,” Chugh said.
In a post on X, Gandhi criticized Jaishankar, saying, “I think Chinese Foreign Minister will come and tell Modi about recent developments in China-India relations. EAM is now running a fully developed circus with the aim of destroying India’s foreign policy.”
