Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called the BRICS to act as global support and a catalyst for a multi -polar world, urging the group to lead and fulfill the expectations of the global South.
Speaking at the outreach session on the 17th BRICS Summit at the outreach session on ‘multiplicity, economic-financial matters and strengthening artificial intelligence’, Modi said that the strength of the block lies in its diversity and shared commitment to multiplicity.
The Prime Minister said, “Our firm belief in the diversity and multicolor of the BRICS group is our greatest strength. We should reflect on how BRICS can act as a guiding force for a multi -polar world in the coming times,” the Prime Minister said.
He insisted that it should be taken seriously on the global platform, the BRICS should first improve its internal systems.
In a post on X, he said, “First, our own system should be emphasized so that our credibility is promoted when we ask for improved multilateralism. It is important to consider economic cooperation within the BRICS.”
“BRICS should focus on maintaining projects through BRICS New Development Banks (NDB), demanding demand-conducted decisions, long-term financial stability and maintaining a healthy credit rating.”
Underlining the need to meet the expectations of the global South, Prime Minister Modi said that BRICS should share innovations in agriculture and science.

“We have expectations from the global south. To fulfill them, we must follow the principle of ‘lead by example’. India is fully committed to working shoulder to shoulder with all the partners to achieve mutual goals,” he said.
Modi highlighted the BRICS Agricultural Research platform established in India as a model to exchange the best practices in Agri-Boyotech, accurate farming and climate adaptation.
He also proposed to build a BRICS science and research repository to expand the benefits of cooperation in other developing countries.
On global supply chains, he called for cooperation on important minerals and technologies, warning against his weapon.

“We must ensure that any country uses these resources only for its own interests or as a weapon,” he said.
The Prime Minister also picked the Prime Minister for collective action on artificial intelligence governance contained in human values.
He said, “Working on the mantra of ‘AI for All’, India is actively and using AI in areas such as agriculture, health, governance and education,” he said.
“We believe that both should be given equal priority to solve concerns and encourage innovation in AI regime,” Modi said. He invited BRICS Partners to the AI Impact Summit to be hosted by India in 2026.
