Police officials said Gopal Khamka, a famous businessman and owner of Magadh Hospital, was shot dead late Friday night near his residence in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan area. The murder was murdered in a similar manner in Vari district of his son, Gunjanzan Khemka, almost six years later.
Khemka was a prominent person in Patna’s business community and was allegedly associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to the police, the shooting took place near Ram Ghulam Chowk at around 11:40 pm as the twin tower adjacent to the Khemka Hotel panke was exiting his car near the residential complex. He was shot at the border close by unknown assailants and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

City Superintendent of Police (Central), Dixit said that a forensic team was called to the spot and a bullet and a shell cover were recovered. “We came to know that businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead in the south area of Gandhi Maidan.
“We are investigating CCTV footage. It is suspected that the attackers came on a bike. We are investigating the matter from all angles to find further details and motives,” Dixit said.
