Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday directed the police to deal with the threat of cyber crime, stating that cyber criminals were trying to use the state as a corridor.

He said that mobile networks have become more dangerous than AK series rifles.

“We talk about the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI), but also have negative effects. Frauds can use AI against innocent people. People have to be more careful to protect themselves from fraud activities,” Saha further said.

Reacting to the opposition’s allegations of breaking up law and order system in the state, the Chief Minister said, “When they (protests) see that law and order is good here, some should be said to be opposite … people from other places are coming to the state for jobs or business, because law and order system is good here.”

To deal with drugs, the Chief Minister said, “If we speak about drugs, we can seizure 106 percent more than last year. In terms of destruction, it is 132 percent. The opposition should return its claim with data. People are not fools. What happened during Congress rule? What happened during CPI (M)?”

Addressing the same incident, Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag said that the state has seen a 20 percent decrease in crime in 2024 compared to 2024.
