Another TMC Rajya Sabha member, Sagarika Ghosh, said that Indians should not be ashamed of any language.

“English is a link language throughout India, it is aspiration, provides a global benefit and the knowledge of English is demanded by millions. Indians should not be ’embarrassed’ in any language,” he said.
