'Fitting to end Naxalism will be a fitting tribute': The family remembered the police officer killed in the IED blast as the 'strongest column'. Bharat News

Eliminating Naxalism will be the most suitable tribute to Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao Giripunje (42). An instantaneous explosive equipment (IED) explosion In Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, his family said on Tuesday that his body was brought back home.

At a wreath ceremony held in Raipur on Tuesday, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced that “Giripunj’s sacrifice will not go in vain”. Assembly Speaker Raman Singh, Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, and other ministers and senior police officers were also present.

B.Com, Graduate, Giripunje worked as a bank officer for four and a half years before joining Chhattisgarh Police in 2013.

He became famous in the police force through his singing at police programs. He also wrote poems.

Celebration offer

He was from an economically backward family, who migrated from neighboring Maharashtra to a settlement in Raipur, where his grandfather ran a garage in the rented complex. His father, Govind Rao, still runs the same garage.

Giripunje was one of the five brothers and sisters. The youngest siblings, 26-year-old Adarsh, an MBBS graduate, said, “My brother was the strongest pillar of our family. We have three sisters, and all are well educated. They built a new house for our family and bought land on the loan. He took care of all my education expenses. He was a guiding spirit.”

Adarsha said that ASP Giripunje said in his last call that he was “excited to come home for his six -year -old daughter’s birthday on June 11”.

Adarsha said, “We were to celebrate his birthday in place of his mother in Maharashtra, Maharashtra.

He also said that the family is proud of Giripunj and “a suitable tribute to their superior sacrifice would end Naxalism”.
