Former BJP farmer Morcha leader shot broadly outside Patna city. Bharat News

Police said that a former BJP Kisan Morcha leader was shot badly by an unknown assailant in Sheikhpura village of Patna on Saturday evening.

The victim, who was identified as Surendra Prasad – was working in his area outside the village when the age of about 50 years – the age of about 50 years. It was shot outside his apartment building in Patna after a week after Gopal Khemka, a prominent Patna businessman.

This is the third incident in Patna in three days. A day earlier, Vikram Jha, the owner of a 40 -year -old shop, was closed on Friday night in Ramakrishna Nagar, East Patna. On 10 July, 50-year-old sand-traditional Ramkant Yadav was shot dead outside his house in Rani Bazar area of West Patna.

The police officer of the sub-division (draft 2) Kanhaiya Singh said, “The people of the area said that the victim was working alone when an unknown person opened fire on him and ran away from the scene,” Kanhaiya Singh, the police officer of the sub-division (draft 2) said. “Listening to the gun bullet, local residents attended the spot and took him to AIMS Patna by Autoricash, where he bowed to his injuries during treatment.”

Initial inquiry indicates that Prasad was a farmer and a rural medical businessman. “We have questioned the people around, but so far, no one has reported the criminal running away,” the official said.

Patna City Superintendent of Police (East) Adesh Kumar said that the police got information about shooting around 9 pm on Saturday.

“According to the family, the victim was irrigating his ground when he was shot by an unknown person between 8 to 8:30 pm, he also said that no one else was present in the area at that time,” the official said.

Police teams have been deployed to collect evidence from the scene with the help of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and District Investments Unit (DIU).

The SP said, “No vacant cartridges have been recovered so far,” according to preliminary reports, the victim allegedly “a single gun pellet wound”.

“We are in the process of filing an FIR based on the family application. The family has not expressed doubt against any person at this stage. We are investigating the case with all possible angles to further identify and arrest the attacker,” SP Kumar said.

Meanwhile, RJD leader and opposition leader Tejashvi Yadav tweeted: “And now, BJP leader has been shot dead in Patna! Who should we talk to, whom should we talk to? In NDA government, in NDA government, there is no statement to hear the truth.
