Police in Chhattisgarh said that Six Maoists killed in an encounter on Friday The Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) was a cadre of Platoon 1 and was responsible for ensuring the safe route of senior Maoist leaders.
Police said that six had a collective reward of Rs 48 lakh.
One of the Maoists was identified as Rahul Punim (38), alias Lachu Punim from Dalla village in Sukma. Officials said he was a member and commander of a divisional committee of Platoon 1. Four of the four killed Maoists were women.
For Bastar Range Sundaraj P, Inspector General of Police said, “An AK-47 rifle, a SLR rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and 11 BGL launchers, recovered in other weapons.”
For Narayanpur district, Robinson Guria, the Superintendent of Police said that there were many challenges during the operation. “We had to cross many rivers and Nallah that were swollen and deep due to the rainy season. The nearest police camp was about 20-25 km away.”

The encounter took place in the Paria-Kakur forest area in the Abhujamad area near Maharashtra, Kankar and Narayanpur Trianduction. This place is about 50 km from Narayanpur district headquarters. Abujamad region is larger than Goa in size and 90% remains unique.
The operation was performed by a joint team which includes Narayanpur, Kankar, Buster, and Kondagan districts, Chhattisgarh of the Special Task Force (STF), and Border Security Force (BSF) battalion.

So far this year, 221 Maoists have been killed in Chhattisgarh.
