Amarnath Yatra 2025: The annual Amarnath Yatra began on Thursday with the first batch of pilgrims starting from Baltal and Nunwan Base Camp, and the second batch was set from Jammu. A total of 5,880 pilgrims are expected to visit the temple as part of the first batch.
The 38-day pilgrimage for the 3,880-meter pilgrimage in the South Kashmir Himalayas, the traditional 48-km Nanwan-Pahalgam road in Anantnag district as well as 14-kimi, but the Baltal Marg in the rhinoceros district started.
Officials said the pilgrim batch, from the Nanwan Base Camp in Pahilgam in Anantnag, South Kashmir, and in the first light of the day at the Baltal Base Camp in Sonamarg area of Gandarbal, Central Kashmir.
On Wednesday, the first batch of 5,892 yatris was dispatched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha from the base camp of the journey in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. The pilgrims arrived in the Kashmir Valley in the afternoon and welcomed the administration and the local people.

They will pay orders in the cave temple, in which naturally occurred ice-lingam is home to formation.

“24 × 7 is being monitored from the Integrated Command and Control Center in Raj Bhawan and Police Control Room, while an RFID-based tracking system is also kept to monitor the movement of Yatris and their convoy on real-time basis,” Officials told Indian Express.

Last year, the yatra recorded the most footfall in 12 years, in which more than five million devotees visited the holy cave.
