Himachal cloudbers, Landslide Death Toll climbs up to 80; 692 crore is estimated

Amidst incessant rains, the toll of death climbed to 80 due to cloudbers and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. Of these, 52 people were killed in rain -related incidents and 28 other accidents, new agency, new agency ANI The report cited a report by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).

A SDMA official said, “According to the cumulative data compiled till July 7, the state has recorded 80 deaths -52 from rain -inspired incidents, 28 from road accidents.”

According to the report, 128 people were injured due to rain. 320 houses were completely damaged, 38 partially damaged, and 10,254 livestock and chicken deaths in Himachal during a period of 17 days. The public infrastructure faced a loss of more than Rs 692 crore due to rain.

Search and rescue operations in Himachal are still going on, with drones and sniffer dogs, flash floods and landslides in the state are still deployed to save dozens of people.

About 250 personnel of national and state disaster response forces, army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Home Guards are searching and rescue work with administration and local people.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut, Opposition Leader Jai Ram Thakur, State BJP chief Rajiv Bindal and several cabinet ministers have visited the affected areas.

According to the state government, 241 water supply projects in the affected areas were damaged, including the largest scheme of Rs 121 crore in Seraj and Balichoki areas.

Light to moderate rains continued to incite some parts of Himachal Pradesh over the weekend, the local meteorological office has issued a yellow warning for heavy rains at different places in four districts of Una, Hamirpur, Solan and Sirmaur districts till Wednesday.
