How Uttarakhand man was saved from bonded labor in Punjab - with some help. Bharat News

For Rajesh’s family, a resident of Uttarakhand, who was rescued from bonded labor in Punjab on June 15, is a reunion, a reunion, a painful.

Last week, a video of Taran Taran of Punjab went viral, shown in a cow shed, shown in a disorganized and visible crisis. An NGO saved him from the family that kept him as a bonded laborer, Garhwal MP Anil Baluni in search of his return State Governor, Gulab Chand Kataria.

Rajesh, currently in Taran Taran District Hospital, has shown mental crisis and requires treatment. “He could not identify me, but quickly recalled our parents,” his sister Rajeshwari, who last seen her in 2008, when she was 9 years old. “I recognized them, but they had replaced. He recalled the ordinance, and we took him to the hospital for a medical examination.”

Rajesh left home at the age of 18, who was looking for work. He said, “He did not contact us, and we did not know that he was in Punjab. I got married to a person in Punjab and came here. It was shocking to know that he was in Taran Taran,” he said.

Talking to the Indian Express, Baluni said that he stumbled on the video after a YouTuber and NGO chief, Jagjit Singh. “When I came to know, I spoke with the family. I approached the Governor to find my return,” he said. In his post on the first X, Baluni wrote, “The Hon’ble Governor expressed concern over the issue and assured me that after a thorough investigation of the incident, Rajesh’s location would be tracked and rescued and taken to his original village as soon as possible.”

Jagjit Singh, who runs NGO Baba Ratan Dev Seva Society, received a tipofoff from a viewer of his channel. “We go to places where human rights violations are reported. This time, his neighbor informed us that three people were being built to work for more than 20 hours a day and the family was misbehaving with the cattle sheds. Men were sleeping near the cattle, with cow dung,” he said.

When they faced employers, their statements did not match the account of laborers and informers. “Police was cooperative … MP Anil Baluni also called the governor to convenience his return,” he said.

On 15 June, his sister watched and approached the video posted by the NGO. “He was attacked day by day, built to work through the year, and not allowed to exit. Once, he tried to escape, but caught and beaten,” he said.

Singh said that once informed the family, he was asked to report an identity mark. He said, “He fractured his finger during childhood, and he recalled it. When we investigated, he had a devious finger,” he said.
