Hurricane before the storm: Kerala Extes still remembers Iran's missile strike in Qatar today. Bharat News

An Iranian missile strike at an American airport in Qatar left several Keralas living in Doha on Monday night. However, by Tuesday, everything had become normal, he said.

In the midst of the Iran-Israel struggle, there was a strike in response to bombing nuclear facilities in Iran.
Regarding Monday night’s missile strike in Qatar, a Kerala migrant said, “I heard a big blast at my work site, close to the American airport. We did not get any alert or warning. After the missile, people leave the workplace in panic and run away in their apartments. I saw thick columns of smoke from the airport.”

The migrants, who did not want to take the name, said that he could see more missiles in the sky as he returned to his residence. “It suddenly looked like fireworks. Everyone panicked and ran to safe places. A pair of missile parts fell down, but the public sector was limited.”

He said that when everyone initially panicked, the situation soon stabilized. “Today, on Tuesday, life in Doha is normal, except that schools have been closed. Neither the government nor the (Indian) Embassy has issued any ban for today. Since the air base is far from populated areas, we are out of danger,” he said.

Another Kerala migrant said the attack lasted for 10–15 minutes. “As the air space was closed, we realized that something was happening … but things are normal in Doha because all the projectiles were targeted towards the airport, which is outside the city. Later, the government confirmed the development and urged people not to worry. Today, he has postponed the exam. Otherwise everything has become normal,” he said.

Back in Kerala, hundreds of Middle East passengers were trapped at airports in Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode after many flights were delayed, canceled or redeemed.
