India news impose more than 20 OTT platforms including ULLU, ALTT, Desiflix for the government

To tighten the illegal and pornographic content, the government has directed the Internet service providers (ISPs) to disable public access to more than 20 OTT platforms, including large and popular names such as ULLU, Altt and Desiflix.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) emphasized that underground Information Technology Act, 2000 is responsible for removing or disabled access to illegal information, and information technology (intermediary guidelines and digital media ethics code) Rules, 2021.

It states that the move aims to curb the spread of materials that are considered sexually clear and violated to Indian legal and cultural standards.

In restricted apps, Big Shots App, Bummex, Navarsa Light, Gulab App, Kangan App, Bull App, Jalwa App, Wow Entertainment, Look Entertainment, Hitprime, Feno, Shoux, Sol Talkies, Aida TV, Hotx VIP, Hulchul App, Mrids, Mudes, Newborn VIP, Fuzflices, Triplic, Tifflic.

These have been found in violations of various laws, including Section 67 and Section 67A of the Information Technology Act, Section 67, 2023 of the Indian Justice Section 294, 2023, and Section 4 of the indecency of the Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The government has clearly directed internet service providers to disable or remove public access to these websites within India.

According to media reports, with the request for the convenience of compliance by the ISP, MIB has also informed the Director (DS-I), the Department of Telecommunications, “and the action showed the government’s commitment to implement digital material rules and to follow laws in the country.

In April, the Supreme Court responded to a petition to ban the OTT and social media sexually clearly clear material.
