In Madhya Pradesh, four IPS officers, including Inspector General of Police and a Deputy Inspector General, were called by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday as “regrettable public conduct”.

In a post on X, CM Yadav said, “Superintendent of Police of Katni and Superintendent of Police of Datia, and IG, Dig Chambal Range have treated in a manner that is regrettable in public service. For this reason, I have instructed them to remove them with immediate effect.”

The Home Department has issued transfer orders for 10 senior police officers in the state. Among them were Sagar IGP Pramod Verma, who is leading a special investigation team formed to investigate Tribal Affairs Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah on his comments on Colonel Sophia Qureshi. The police, however, said that “this is a regular transfer and has nothing to do with the Vijay Shah case”.
