Officials said an IndiGo flight from Goa with 140 passengers on the board made an emergency landing at Devi Ahilibai Holkar Airport in Indore on Monday evening, after a technical warning related to its landing gear, the officials said.
All passengers are safe.
Airport director Vipintyant Seth said Indigo Airlines flight (6E 813) from Goa received an undercarge warning, which reflects a possible issue with its landing gear. As a precaution, the aircraft remained aerial for about 25 minutes before landing.
“Due to this warning, the aircraft landed under emergency situations at Indore Airport. The crew and all passengers are completely safe,” he said.
Another official said that information was received about an undercarge warning for the announcement of “complete emergency” at the airport. Fire and medical teams were deployed according to the standard operation process (SOP).
The aircraft carrying about 140 passengers landed safely at 5.15 pm. The official said that its scheduled arrival time was 4.50 pm.
An Indigo spokesperson said that the operation of Flight 6E 813 from Goa International Airport (Dabolim) gives information about a technical snag just before landing.
The spokesperson said, “The aircraft landed safely in Indore. It would have to undergo necessary investigations, according to mandatory procedures before starting the operation.
