While disposing of a deep -fought marital dispute, the Supreme Court on Tuesday divorced a couple and directed that the wife, who is an IPS officer, has published “an unconditional forgiveness” and published it as part of the township on newspapers and social media.
An IPS officer and a Delhi -based businessman, the couple married in 2015 and separated in 2018. The woman became an IPS officer in 2022 when she separated from her husband and moved to her hometown in Uttar Pradesh. The apex court was hearing two transfer petitions filed by the couple. While the wife had registered cases in UP, the husband had registered cases in Delhi’s Rohini court. Goel had demanded divorce and did not seek alimony or maintenance. In turn, the husband demanded the custody of his eight -year -old daughter. The matrimonial dispute soon turned into a litter of cases against each other. While the wife made domestic violence, rape, and income tax complaints, the husband accused the defamation and even challenged the wife’s IPS candidature.
