Police said on Monday that a senior journalist has been booked on charges of interfering in Bihar’s election role and inciting communal discord.
A prize winning journalist, Ajit Anjum, was booked under sections of Representation Nyana Code, 2023, and the People’s Act, 1951, when he visited a pole booth in Balia on July 12, Anjum, who runs a YouTube channel, said that without some photos, without some photos, without some photos, some are involved in some kind of farms.
On the complaint of a booth level officer (BLO), Mohammad Ansarul Haq, Anjum was booked under classes such as criminal trespasses, disregarding a valid order, also stopped the sections of the Representation of the People’s Act, while disregarding a legitimate order, doing a public servant.
The complainant said in the FIR: “I, Mohammad Ansarul Haque, Blow Part No. 16145, Sahibpur Kamal Assembly Constituency, was uploading counting form from the Blow App in Block Auditorium on July 12, 2025 in Block Auditorium in Ballia.
The complaint also claimed that individuals asked about the number of Muslim voters and how many made their presented documents.

“I informed them that there were 1,020 voters in my booth, and I distributed the forms to all and got them back. However, Youtuber’s attention was on the claim that Muslim voters were being harassed, which was completely wrong. YouTuber and his team did not allow me to work for an hour, so that my work was made for my work.
Anjum, however, stood by his claim, said that his news report was “fair and fair”.

“I, as a conscious journalist, showed how the Election Commission of India’s rules is not being followed. I have not disclosed anyone’s identity, nor have I shown any close shots of calculation forms. Instead of taking action against my own officer, they have filed a cedar against me instead of taking action against my own officer. But I am not doing one.”
