The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, turned 90 today.
A day before the occasion, the leader took X (East Twitter) to share a birthday message with his followers, where he appealed to him to be kind to everyone, and said he would continue to focus on promoting human values and religious harmony.
He wrote: “I am just an ordinary Buddhist monk; I usually do not engage in birthday celebrations. However, since you are organizing concentrated events on my birthday, I want to share some ideas.”
In his birthday message on Saturday, the leader urged his followers to focus on achieving peace of mind and make the world a better place. “While it is important to work for physical development, it is important to focus on achieving peace of mind through a good heart cultivation and through being kind, not only near and dear people, but to all. Through this, you will contribute to making the world a better place,” he wrote on X.

Even though he is not usually not engaged in the birthday celebrations, he appreciated the fact that many of his followers were using the opportunity to “attach to the initiative that highlights the importance of compassion, warmth and philanthropicness”.
Highlighting his plans, the Dalai Lama said, “As for myself, I will continue to focus on my commitments to promote human values, promote religious harmony, attract attention to ancient Indian knowledge, which explains the functioning of mind and emotions and Tibetan culture and heritage, which has great ability to contribute to the world.”

He said that he develops determination and courage in his daily life “through the teachings of Buddha and Indian masters such as Shantideva, whose following aspirations I try to move forward.”
Quoting Shantideva, he wrote: “As long as the space ends, as long as it remains emotional, I can also live to overcome the sorrows of the world.”

On Sunday, a religious conference, Yuva Manch, film screening and Tibetan spiritual leader, ceremonies are going on within the Tibetan community at McLeodganj on Sunday with prayers for the long life of the news agency. PTI Informed
Earlier in the day, after a long life prayer ceremony at the Central Dalai Lama Temple Tsuglagakhang in McLeodganj, the spiritual leader shared that he expects to stay for 30 to 40 years to serve people, serves people, serving people, PTI The report states.
On Sunday, Cabinet Ministers Kiren Rijiju, a practice Buddhist and Rajiv Ranjan Singh will be attended by the Dalai Lama’s Genty Anniversary ceremony. The report said that Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Hollywood actor Richard Gere have been slated to attend the ceremony.
