He said that the students of Class 5 and 8 are still without necessary books in PM Shri Kandria Vidyalas, even four months after the start of classes.
With a few days for the first quarter examinations, negligence from NCERT officials, who are about to distribute books, are extremely serious, the minister said in a statement.
Classes in Kendriya Vidyalayas began on 1 April. But even after four months, only the study material was provided online to the teachers.
The minister said that students will not be able to face the examination without books, which will seriously affect their studies.

Drawing a parallel among government schools in the state, Shivkutty said that state officials have provided textbooks before the beginning of the academic year.
“In this situation, negligence on behalf of NCERT is unacceptable. This step is to distribute books through online platforms and private book stalls rather than providing in schools,” Sivonkutty alleged.
