Lalu Prasad was re -elected the National President of RJD, a party that he had on Saturday and established the Janata Dal.
Addressing the party’s National Council after the re -election on his 28th anniversary, a 78 -year -old leader said that a survey is being conducted to identify the appropriate candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar.
He said, “A survey is going on to take candidates from you. I will take a final decision in consultation with Tejashvi,” he said.
He said, “I have gone through mental for Tejashvi and ask you all to ensure that he wins the election,” he said.
The experienced leader was blindly pleased with his 36 -year -old son and said, “I regularly receive the response from them. He always moves forward, travels to the farthest corners of the state. Many times I only know about his visit on return.” He also thanked his wife Rabri Devi, who took a political dip when the CBI charge sheet forced him to step down as the Chief Minister of Bihar in the fodder scam.
Prasad said, “I am grateful to him for being a column of support. When I was not available, he handled everything. Late, my health has been uncertain, and he is the one who takes care of me,” Prasad said.
Old age and many diseases had taken a toll on the charismatic leader who sat in his chair, sitting in a weak voice, but insisted that “I will not disappoint the party. I am there to do whatever is necessary for those who do my work.”
