To transfer them to the house close to the training centers amidst a bounce in police recruitment requests, the Madhya Pradesh Police’s plan plans to start the Ramacharitmanas session every evening, in the hope that Lord Ram’s 14 -year exile can offer one or two lessons.
The new batch of recruitments started its training in eight police training schools (PTS) across the state this week. Officials said that they would be asked to pronounce at least two chapters of Ramcharitaman daily before sleeping to stop homesicness.
ADG (Training) Raja Babu Singh told The Indian Express“I am receiving applications for change close to my PTS house with new recruits. But this mentality is reverse. If the authorities are only trained near their homes, how will they ever be favorable for posting in challenging areas like Naxal rebel people like Naxal rebel?”
Attracting similarities with the exile of Lord Ram, Singh told senior officials that the idea of staying away from home is not new to the Indian tradition. “Lord Ram did not return to Ayodhya for 14 years. During that time, he learned to live in the forest, created an army, and crossed the difficulty. If we want to teach our recruitments a lesson, they would have to stay with our local culture, which they can relate,” they said.
According to the MP police, 300 fresh recruitments have applied for transfer to a PTS near their home district. Senior officials said that if anything is allowed, “flood attacks will open for transfer”.

Currently, 4,000 recruits have been prescribed to undergo nine -month basic course training. The Ramcharitmanas sessions will be held every evening by the head of the barracks.
This is not the first time Rajbabu Singh has attracted spiritual and cultural traditions in policing. Gwalior is known for his first “Gita Gyan” awareness campaign, serving as the ADG of the zone, Singh distributed copies to the jails during Dussehra.

The MP has also gone to promote the police regional identity and pride, requiring every PTS required to introduce local folk martial arts and dance. Singh said, “There are also training schools where martial arts like Kalaripayattu are taught; we are all going to make a list of Indian martial arts forms and teach them to recruit,” Singh said.
Officials said the commando drills such as frog jump, monkey walks, duck walks, and inchworm walks have also been integrated to simulate the readiness of war using the body’s natural movement.
