With open weapons, a smiling Shubanshu Shukla glied to the International Space Station on Thursday evening, shifted India’s time from the dragon spacecraft, bringing him and three others from Earth after a 28 -hour travel through space.
Captain Shukla, the pilot group of Dragon Spacecraft, is the first Indian on ISS. He was the second to enter the station, immediately after 5.45 pm, after the US Mission Commander Paigi Whitson.
Dragon was associated with ISS, a permanent research laboratory in space, 105 minutes earlier in a smooth docking maneuver. At the time of docking, both ISS and spacecraft were traveling at a speed of about 26,500 kmph.
The upcoming astronauts-Vhitson, Shukla, Slavoz Uznanski-Visnivski’s Poland and Hungary’s Tibor Capu-Ka were already welcomed by astronauts stationed there. The ISS was already home to seven astronauts, members of the 73rd campaign at the station starting on April 19 and will continue till November.
Apart from four astronauts from Axiom-4 mission, who will stay there for two weeks, ISS is now hosting 11 people. Since 1998, ISS is comparable to six-bedroom US apartments in size and can comfortably accommodate a dozen astronauts together.
Command by NASA’s former astronaut and director of Acome Space’s Human Spaceflight, the X -4 crew includes Slavose Uznanski -Visnivski from Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, who are serving as a pilot (photo/x) with Shukla as a mission expert.
Shukla and other upcoming astronauts were offered a liquid diet to refresh themselves as they interacted with the existing residents and went around in convenience. For an experienced Whitson of space trip, this is the fifth visit of the ISS.
Soon after, Shukla was presented by Whitson with astronaut number 634 – he is the 634th man who traveled into space.

“This is a privilege. This is the privilege of one of the few people who have got a chance to see the earth from a convenient point,” Shukla said. “It has been a wonderful ride. It has been very good. I was eager to get into space. It’s something to look forward,” he said.
As a mission pilot, Shukla was given a number ahead of Uznanski-Visnivski and Kapu. Whitson already has a number, 419.
“The best thing about being a commander with all the miscreants is that you get to see the miscreants going through it for the first time. And it helps you to remember some things you have gone for the first time. It is very special to re -gain the experience through these people,” Whitson, whose first space journey was in 2002, said.
Shukla said that he was overwhelmed by the reception received from those people on ISS.

“The minute when I entered the international space station, you people (members of the 73rd campaign) welcomed us so much … You really opened your doors for us. It was fantastic. I feel even better … I feel even better … Whatever expectations about coming here have crossed it, it is definitely a big part, but thanks by you guys,” He said.
The AXIOM-4 mission launched India’s time of Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canverals, Florida on Wednesday afternoon, and took 28 hours to reach the destination.
“Clearly, when I was sitting in the capsule on the launch pad yesterday, my only idea was ‘Late Lats bus just walk 30 days after Quarantine’. There was a feeling that I wanted to go. The enthusiasm was far away … A conversation in the first day as a spacecraft made his way to ISS.
“When we shot in vacuum, I was not very good. But since yesterday, I have been told that I am sleeping a lot … I think it’s a great sign. It’s a great sign. I am being used quite well, enjoying thoughts, enjoying the whole experience, learning like a child … learning new steps, learning, how to control yourself.

The dragon spacecraft carrying astronauts came in contact with the docking port of the hormony module of ISS, which was for ‘soft capture’ around India’s time. Then, 12 hooks were closed at the spacecraft to complete the lock, or ‘hard capture’, followed by the hatch opening process for power and communication, after which the hatch opening process was started. The entire process took more than one and a half hours.
Shukla and his crew partners will spend 14 days on ISS, conduct around 60 experiments, represent 31 countries. India has sent seven experiments on the mission, which includes crop seeds between food microlega, oxygen-producing cyanobacteria and others. Shukla will also connect with students, academics with representatives of India’s growing space industry.
Soon after Docking, Union Minister of State for Minister of Space, Dr. Dr. Jitendra Singh said in a post on X, “Congratulations AXIOM4! Docking was completed. Shubhanshu stands at the threshold entrance of the International Space Station … I am waiting for a step for 14-day SOJURN … The world is eyeing with excitement and expectation as the world.”
