An official statement said that a general coach of Shalimar -Sambalpur Mahima Gosain Express took place near Sambalpur railway station on Thursday, but there was no report of any injury.
The East Coast Railway said in a statement that the incident took place between Sambalpur City Station -Sambalpur Junction, when the train ran very slowly from Sambalpur city at 9:18 am.
The railway statement said, “There was no loss of life or property in this incident.”

The guard of the train said that a major accident was avoided as the speed of the loco was very slow.
Railway officials and local police have reached the site and have transferred passengers to another coach.
The statement of the East Coast Railway said that the rear trolley Shalimar-Ambalpur Express of a general coach next to the 20831 guard van derailed near Sambalpur City Station at a very slow pace.
“The train left for Sambalpur already with all the passengers. No one was injured,” said this.
Railway officials including DRM have reached the site and are overseeing the initial restoration of traffic.
