Police said on Sunday that a group of armed people entered a house in Chhatpur district of Madhya Pradesh, set fire to a resident, and kidnapped his wife and two daughters.
Sub-division police officer Naveen Dubey said that the incident took place in Sumedi village at 12.30 pm on Saturday. According to police, more than a dozen people arrived in an SUV and several motorcycles. They were equipped with “pistols, sticks and sticks” and Hariram Pal’s house came to a storm and started throwing family members before firing indiscriminately inside the house.
The attackers then kidnapped Hariram’s wife and two daughters, who were nervous at the age of seven and five, dragging them into a vehicle at gunpoint. Hariram was shot and seriously injured, and was rushed to the district hospital. They are called in critical condition.
The police have identified the main accused as Sanjay Singh Rajput, a resident of the same village, who allegedly led a group of 10 to 15 attackers. The objective behind the attack is suspected of being personal enmity, although the authorities are still investigating the full details.
So far five suspects have been arrested, and a case has been filed against nine persons under 11 sections of Bharti Nai Code (BNS), including murder and kidnapping attempts.
Superintendent of Police Agam Jain has formed five special teams to locate the remaining accused.
