22-year-old influential Leela Sahu of Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh, who has found himself in the crosshair of the local BJP leadership, has said that when he is not interested in politics, he will continue to use his online appearance-he has more than 23 lakh followers on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook-“To increase local issues”.
The 22-year-old, who began making small material in 2022, initially told about local fairs, travel and his family farming life. But since 2024, he highlighted local issues, addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Sidi MP Rajesh Mishra.
After becoming pregnant last year, she and her family members met local politicians to construct a road from their village, but when things did not proceed, they made another video to highlight the issue. “Only one survey was done. The rain came and went away, then winter, then in summer. Now it’s raining again, and the road is still being built,” he said.
For residents of Khadi Khurd located in Sidi district, Basic Healthcare is an 8-km tractor ride, often on unexpected, broken routes.
BJP MP Rajesh Mishra responded to his video, accepted the controversy when he said that transport will be arranged for those women who are going to be distributed a week before the due date. Mishra said, “Every delivery has a fixed date. If she wants, she can be recruited early. We will provide all facilities including food and water,” Mishra said.

As his comment was criticized, he clarified, “My comments have been misunderstood. We sent a proposal to the central government in 2024. The proposal has also been accepted. We also informed the villagers that the road would be constructed in 17 months.”
PWD Minister Rakesh Singh had said, “There will be pits until there are no roads. There can be a road with 5 years of life and there may be pits in 4 years. But if there are roads that should not be spoiled in 4 years, and there are pits in 6 months, then it is wrong.”

An official from Sidi district said that a recently conducted survey was conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Rural Roads Development Authority, and a 5 -km road scheme was presented in March 2025 under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. “The work will begin after being approved at the state level,” the official said.
But Leela said that this issue does not worry her alone: “I am 9 months pregnant. My fixed date is coming fast. My sister -in -law is also pregnant. There are six women in my area who are getting closer to their fixed dates. It takes several hours to reach the hospital using this broken road. Now he will do another survey.
He has also faced backlash from some corners to chase “political ambitions” and meditation. He said, “I already have 50 million followers. I am not interested in politics. I only want to use this platform to raise local issues. I don’t want politicians to airlif me. I do not want special treatment. I want our politicians to be held accountable.” “You are all living in 2025. We are living in the 1990s. We do not have the proper roads. If I have to upload my video on Instagram, I have to walk 1 km to get an internet signal.”
