Millions of devotees reach Puri for Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra

Officials said that millions of devotees have rented the pilgrim city Pramam for the annual Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath on Friday, for which the Odisha government has made detailed arrangements.

Police sources said that by Thursday evening, about one lakh people have reached Puri, and this morning the number has increased manifold.

He said that millions of devotees in the country and abroad are expected to participate in the event.
“By the grace of Mahaprabhu (Lord Jagannath), we are fully prepared to organize a smooth Rath Yatra on Friday. We are getting full support and cooperation from the servant. All the arrangements are to make the mega event successful,” said Arabinda Padly, the chief administrator of the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

The city is heavily firm with the deployment of around 10,000 security personnel, including eight companies of the Central Armed Police Forces.

Odisha DGP YB Khurania said that for the first time, an integrated command and control center have been opened in Puri to monitor the entire festival from the entire quarters.

More than 275 A-S) CCTV cameras have been established for monitoring, famous for Sun Temple, 35 km away and 13th-century Sun Temple in Puri and on the streets.
