Officials said twenty -four houses, 12 cattle sheds, a bridge and several roads have been damaged, 30 cattle have been destroyed and there are efforts to save nine stranded people in Mandi district.

The SEOC said that a total of 332 people including 278 people including 278 in Mandi, 51 in Hamirpur and three in Chamba have been rescued. All educational institutions in Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi and Shimla districts remained closed due to heavy rains alert on Tuesday.

“Electricity projects have suffered the most due to rain, and operations have been affected. In the last two to three years, the increasing number of incidents of cloudbukes in the last two to three years is a matter of concern … The reasons are being reviewed.”
