As thunder in various parts of Tripura, more than 650 people from 181 families were transferred to relief camps, and two more houses besides 106 houses were damaged by Friday.
The state’s emergency operation centers (SEOC) said that Pratapgarh, Aralia, Jogendranagar, and other areas of sub-division and Mandvi-Patani region of Jirania sub-division in West Tripura district, were severely affected by heavy rains, according to reports received till Saturday evening.
The latest reports suggest that other parts of the ARTala City, including Shakantala Road, Orient Chauumuhani, RMS Chauumuhani, were also affected. The roads in National Highway 8, Jirania, Jirania were blocked on Saturday due to a falling tree due to heavy rains.

According to India’s Meteorological Department (IMD) report, light rain/thunderstorm is expected to be lightened at many places in Tripura districts in the next 24 hours.
The department issued a warning of heavy rainfall, 7–11 cm, at one or two places in the north, Unakoti, and Dhalai districts of Tripura, with thunder with power and strong wind speed of 30–40 kmph and strong wind speed at one or two places at Dhalai districts, districts of Tripura.

A release by SEOC said on Friday that 207 people from 57 families were lost and four relief camps were transferred to West Tripura districts. So far, a person has died in Jirania in West Tripura district.
A female elephant also died in Mungiyakami Rural Development Block in Khoai district.

The SEOC release said that according to the IMD report, on Saturday afternoon, depression on Bangladesh went to North-North-East in Bangladesh about 110 km northwest of Dhaka (Bangladesh).

It was likely to move almost north-north-east and weakened in the next 12 hours. Under its effect, heavy to heavy rainfall with very heavy rainfall and very heavy rainfall and squalli/luxurious winds, the release said in the release.
It said that IMD had issued a red warning for North Tripura and Unakoti districts till 8.30 am on Saturday and gave an orange warning for other districts.
Several roads in Longtharai Valley of Dhalai district, as well as Jirania and Mohanpur in West Tripura, Jumpuizala in Sephijala district, and taxbooks, cilacherry, gomti and Sabroom, were blocked after the trees collapsed during the storm.

However, according to the latest reports, all the major rivers of the state, including Gomati, Muhuri and Feni, are flowing below the danger mark.
However, the Howrah River in Augartla – especially under the Johar Bridge – was found to be 10.01 meters as against the significant level of 10 meters.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha told reporters on Friday, “I have already talked to disaster management officials. I have asked them to keep an eye on all places in the state. Last time, we had arranged for the flood victims. If the situation deteriorates, we will definitely take more initiatives.” Saha held a review meeting, in which the Chief Secretary, Revenue Secretary and others participated about the rain situation.
Last year, floods claimed 38 lives, besides affecting over 1.7 million people, and caused an estimated loss of Rs 15,000 crore. More than two lakh people across the state were transferred to 889 relief camps as flood waters had submerged large tracts in all eight districts.
