The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Prasad Sarvata in the Department of Tribal Welfare, after an investigation, he found that he had allegedly collected assets worth more than Rs 2.38 crore from his known sources of income during a ten -year period. The skin of a tiger was also recovered from his residence in Jabalpur, inspiring a separate wildlife crime case.
Sirvet did not respond to calls and messages seeking comments.

FIR notes said that Sarvat entered government service on September 7, 1989, and joined his current cadre on 13 December 2004. His salary record was collected from Jabalpur Treasury Office and State Bank of India, where he maintains his salary account.
Investigators alleged that “the total expenditure of Rs 3.95 crore is more than Rs 1.57 crore, resulting in a ratio of Rs 2.38 crore.”
