The Center on Monday impressed a governor reshuffle, announcing the appointment of senior TDP leader Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju, as Goa Governor, senior West West Bengal BJP leader Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Haryana Governor, and former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Kavir Gupta as former Jammu.
A senior BJP hand from Jammu and Kashmir with early RSS relations, who served as Deputy CM during a three-month tenure in 2018 as part of the PDP-BJP government, takes over from Gupta Brigade (DR) BD Mishra (Ratedar).
After being divided by Jammu and Kashmir as part of change in August 2019, Ladakh is the third of his Raj Bhavan, with Ladakh becoming a center area.
Raju, a former Union Minister of Civil Aviation, gives relief to PS Sreedharan Pillai as the Governor of Goa.
In Haryana, Ashim Kumar Ghosh, president of the old BJP hand and former West Bengal unit of the party, will take over as an experienced BJP leader and the Governor of the former Minister of State.
Sources said that Pillai and Dattatreya had completed their respective term as governors and can now be absorbed in organizational roles.
