NIA Files First Chargesheet 26/11 Mastermind Tavavur Rana against the attack

The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday filed the first supplementary charge sheet against Tahwur Rana, which was extradited from the US about 16 years after his arrest for his role in 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

26/11 Lashkar-e-Taiba Scout David Kolman Headley, a close aide, was brought to India on 10 April after extradition from the US. He is accused of assisting and abolishing the reconnaissance made by Headley, with whom he went to school in Pakistan, to participate in the conspiracy by providing significant logical assistance to 26/11 attacks and Mumbai attacking terrorists.

“The NIA has filed the first supplementary charge sheet against Rana before the Hon’ble NIA Special Court at Patiala House. The case is related to a criminal conspiracy given by Headley, Rana and other members of Late and Huji, which is to carry out terrorist attacks in different parts of India,” A Nia Spocalson said in a statement.

“The supplementary charge sheet is related to presenting documents about the extradition of Rana and additional evidence collected by the NIA. In addition, in compliance with the order dated 6 June, the Hon’ble NIA issued by the Special Court, the NIA has submitted a compliance report regarding the supply of documents already related. The spokesman said.

Currently, Rana has been recorded in a ward for very risky prisoners in Tihar Jail in Delhi.

Rana prisoner number is 1784. The block that is being kept is less crowded than others within the jail premises. The ward in which it is being kept is a separate ward. No prisoner is allowed to enter other wards, a source in Tihar Jail said.
