No ambulance was found for hours, the parents of the Jharkhand girl say that they died after falling; Opposition slam government 'inaction' | Bharat News

On Thursday, a 13 -year -old girl fell from a building in Godda district of Jharkhand and later bent in front of her injuries after alleged no ambulance allegedly, her family said.

Opposition leader Babulal Marandi raised the issue on social media, saying that the girl waited for an ambulance for hours, and accused the state’s health ministry of “inaction and corruption”.

The incident took place in Madan Chowki village of Thakangangati police station area.

The victim’s parents, Sanjay Maho and his wife alleged that no ambulance was available despite a continuous call for 108 service for more than three hours.

In an alleged video that went viral, parents said that after the government failed to receive an ambulance, they had to do a personal work.

On Sunday, Civil Surgeon of Godda, Dr. Anand Kumar Jha told The Indian Express: “I came to know about the matter yesterday. No prior information or official report came to us.”

He said that the entire report of hospital officials and ambulance service is expected to be done by tomorrow.

The civil surgeon also said that he has initiated an investigation and asked the Deputy Superintendent and Ambulance Agency to clarify. He said, “We are verifying whether any call was made for 108 service or not, if yes, why were they not. If there was any failure in the system, action would be taken,” he said.

The child was registered in the hospital records, Jha said, suggesting that the family may have initially reached Sadar Hospital in Godda before trying to take the child to Ranchi. He said that the officials are also trying to find out whether the standard referral protocol was followed, especially about the formal referral from the district hospital to Ranchi, he said.

Following a series of similar incidents reported from rural areas, opposition leader Babulal Marandi raised the issue and slammed the state government.

He posted on X posting: “A young girl from Godda had to pay the price for the gross negligence of Hemant Soren Sarkar with her life. The girl’s family, who was seriously injured after falling from the roof, waited for an ambulance for hours, but the ambulance of the government has not yet admitted. Bharat Yojana has not yet recruited … Hemant government has turned into corruption and commission.
