Odisha Police on Monday arrested a suspended principal of a leading government college in Balasore, where A Student set himself on fire On alleged sexual harassment by a professor. Doctors say that the woman, who faces more than 90% burning injuries, is “extremely important”.
Police officials said the suspended principal has been arrested for suicide. The state government on Saturday suspended him to “fail his duties in the principal’s capacity”.

On Sunday, the woman’s father alleged that instead of taking action against the accused professor, the principal pressured him to withdraw his complaint.

A higher education officer also confirmed that the woman had written to the institute officials.
