Beyond the monsoon session of Parliament, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday urged all political parties to reduce the interruption in the House’s proceedings and said it is time to change the previous practices. Addressing the national level conference of urban local bodies here, Birla said that people will teach political parties a lesson that resort to disintegration of house proceedings.
Birla said that there has been some decrease in the disintegration of house proceedings in the 18th Lok Sabha, which was sitting for the first time in June last year. “If we have to strengthen democracy, then we have to ensure that the houses work properly.”
