Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Dr. Santashri Dhulipudi Pandit, said on Thursday that Operation Sindoor said that India would “be blackmailed by nuclear threats” and “not only terrorists, but would punish the systems that Narish Narish”.

Pandit was giving a Velladictory address on Thursday morning under the chairmanship of the Military Engineering (CM) college convocation in Pune.

Thirty -five officers were awarded degrees under JNU’s educational affiliation. It consisted of 11 officers of MTECH (Structural Engineering) course and 24 officers of the Technical Entry Scheme (TES) course, who received a BTech degree in civil and mechanical engineering.

Referring to Operation Syndor after India’s retaliation after Pandit’s terrorist attack, Pandit said that it “represents the changed theory that defines the national goals”.

“India’s national security philosophy is no longer one of the ambiguity and endurance. It is now of clarity, result and vengeance. Pahalgam attack-the attack-was not targeted and state-stored-but was not a final trigger. In response, India launched Operation Sindhor, a calibrated multi-domain racket.

“(Operation) vermilion was not only a military operation, but a declaration. It was claimed that India would not absorb terrorism as geography or diplomacy costs. It would retaliate. It would protect escalation matrix.

Saying that Operation Sindoor was the beginning of a new strategic era, Pandit said, “India claims that nuclear threats will not be blackmailed. India will take vengeance in domain – military, cyber, diplomatic, hydrological. Through your preparation, innovation and unexpected claims of our national interest, it is not a slogan.

The Vice Chancellor of JNU said, “In the past, India made some strategic errors. Relying on the third parties to resolve internal issues … to international intercourse … and assuming that it will earn restraint. Not now. Operation Sindoor rejected any third-party mediation …”.

“Now you are a part of a principle that no longer allows Pakistan to hide behind non-state actors. You are part of a generation that has dismissed the intensity of strategic restraint and adopted the strategic clarity of national interest. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learnings are no longer military requirements for the civil office.

Addressing 35 officers, Pandit said, “Graduation today means more unstable, complex, and interdependent in the world. A world where technology disrupts the boundaries, cybercax weakens sovereignty and shapes engineers.

CME Commandant Lieutenant General AK Ramesh encouraged graduate officers to be committed to professional excellence to stay connected with innovations and challenges in engineering domains. Brigadier Ravi Reddy, Deputy Commandant and Dean, CME, presented an academic report for Spring Term 2025.

Lieutenant Colonel Neeraj Parmar was awarded the Gold Medal and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Army Training Command (ArtRac) Award for topping the MTECH (Structural Engineering) course. General Officer Commanding-in-Chief ArtRac Award for BTech (Civil Engineering) and BTECH (Mechanical Engineering) went for Lt. Priya Mishra and Lieutenant Anisman Chaudhary respectively.
