The Orissa High Court on Tuesday refused to order an inquiry into the death of a college student after alleged sexual harassment by a teacher.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Harish Tandon also issued notices to the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Congress, stating that on July 17, the parties called the parties to oppose the incident.
The integrated B.Ed student of the second year of Fakir Mohan (Autonomous) College in Balasore, on July 12, ablaized himself after coming out of the principal’s chamber, alleging inaction on his complaint against the professor.
On the night of 14 July, a 20 -year -old student burning 95 percent died in AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
A lawyer filed a gene praying for the Constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the incident monitored by the High Court. Currently, the crime branch is investigating the case.
During the hearing, Justice Manas Ranjan Pathak in the bench expressed satisfaction with the investigation conducted by the Crime Branch.
Earlier, Advocate General Pitambara Acharya submitted a status report before the bench, stating that the ongoing investigation was led by a senior IPS officer of Inspector General Rank, and assured the court that the state government was making every effort to ensure justice to the victim.

He said that the concerned teacher and the then college-college were arrested.
The bench took exceptions for efforts by political parties and organizations to politicize the incident, which have disrupted public life in violation of binding directions issued by the Supreme Court of India, who have closed calls, road blocks, and picketing in front of government offices and hospitals.
The AG told the court that some political parties are politicizing the issue and resorted to staging demonstrations inside hospitals such as inseparable, violence, AIIMS, paralyzing the public transport system, which affects work in public offices.
The petitioner’s counsel also informed the bench that he failed to reach the court on 17 July.

The court took cognizance of the mode of protest and issued notices to the BJD and the Congress, directed them to register a response in relation to PIL within three weeks.
The bench noticed that such closed calls violate the decisions of the Supreme Court, which prevent obstruction in normal life under the guise of protest.
After the reply, the matter has been posted for further hearing.
