Pakistani couple are trying to die of dehydration in India, Jaisalmer police says India news

The disintegrated bodies of a Pakistani couple were discovered on June 28 in the desert near Tanot police station area of ​​Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. According to officials, the couple tried to illegally enter India through the desert.

Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary said that on Saturday, Tanot Police Station came to know about two unidentified bodies of about 15 km inside the Indian border. A police team reached the place and the body of a man was found under a tree. He was recovered from a sky blue salwar-kurata and a yellow colored scarf and a mobile phone from the site.

About 50 feet away, the body of a woman was also found. She was wearing a yellow ghagra-kurta and had red and white bangles on her wrist. Both bodies were lying under the face and appeared dead for 8–10 days. Due to advanced decomposition, their bodies turned black and their faces were recognizable. Initial investigation shows that the couple’s possibility was due to dehydration.

Keeping in mind the seriousness of the matter, on the instructions of SP Chaudhary, an FSL team, MOB team and Jaisalmer Circle officials reached the spot. The teams conducted a detailed inspection, including photography and videography of the area and bodies.

Two Pakistani national identity cards were recovered from man’s clothes. One recognized him as Ravi Kumar (17), son of Diwan ji, while the other recognized the woman as Gulo ji’s daughter Shanti Bai (15). Both cards mentioned ‘Pakistan’ and had Urdu text on the reverse side.

According to Hindu Pakistani District Coordinator, Dilip Singh Soda, while talking to the Indian Express, the Union and Border People’s Organization said that the organization approached a distant relative of the couple in India, who told him, “There was some disagreement with their father. Jaisalmer Circle Officer Roop Singh Indra said that the police have sought information from the registration office (FRO) of local foreigners in Jaisalmer on the boy’s visa application.
