
Parliament monsoon session today live news update, 23 July: On the third day of the monsoon session of Parliament, the National Sports Bill (Sports Governance Bill) is likely to join the Lok Sabha, which aims to bring the Indian Cricket Board BCCI under its preview with 45 National Sports Association (NSFs). If the bill is passed and implemented as a law, BCCI will have to be recognized by a proposed National Sports Board, which will be known as an autonomous body. The aim of the bill is to bring more transparency, athletic-centric reforms and a quick solution to disputes.
Protest against Bihar: Sir: On Tuesday, Parliament was shaken with a protest at the ongoing voter-rol revision in Bihar, in which opposition MPs raised slogans and were carrying placards inside both houses. In Parliament, Rukas washed the proceedings in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on 2 of the monsoon session. Opposition members were seen trupping in the well of the house at 11 am, seeking a rollback of Sir Exercise, leading to the adjournment of both houses. Around 2 pm on Tuesday, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were postponed till the next day due to continuous slogans.

MP pushed for impeachment of Yashwant Verma: 145 Lok Sabha members and 63 opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha presented a memorandum to remove Justice Yashwant Verma under articles 124, 217 and 218 of the Constitution. The Lok Sabha was postponed till 4 pm, a few minutes after the resumption, the opposition continued to shout slogans. However, proceedings in Rajya Sabha resume. The monsoon session will include a total of 21 seating, which are spread over 32 days, and will end on August 21. In the middle, both houses will be postponed on August 12, 2025, and will assure the convenience of the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, August 18.
