On the midnight of June 30, all hells became loose for 10 -month -old Neetika Devi from Talwara village of Paramwara Panchayat in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.

As soon as the water started entering his house after CloudBust, his father Ramesh Kumar, 31, ran out to remove the water flow. His mother Radha Devi, 24, and 59 -year -old grandmother Purnu Devi followed her. But none of them returned.

Balwant Thakur, a cousin of Ramesh Kumar, told the Indian Express over the phone, “His neighbor Prem Singh, whose child is located at some distance, was found alone. She was crying. Her mother, father and grandmother were not seen anywhere. Prem Singh took the child along and informed us in the morning,” Balwant Thakur, a cousin of Ramesh Kumar, told the Indian Express on the phone. 60 -year -old Balwant was an individual security officer of former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.

Ramesh’s body has been found. But the search is still for Radha Devi and Purnu Devi.

Like Neetika, Ramesh also lost his father when he was younger. “Ramesh was only six months old when his father died in an accident,” Balwant said. The family depended on Purnu’s income. Balwant said, “My aunt Purnu Devi was a peon in a government school. There were only seven months left for her retirement. Ramesh was in farming and did not earn well,” Balwant said.

Now Neetika is with her aunt. Balwant said, “There is neither road connectivity nor phone connectivity. Things are very bad. We are difficult to charge our phone. My phone is out of my village, who is looking for my aunt and sister -in -law.” The district administration approached the victim’s family on 3 July.

“It took me two hours to reach there. The entire road has been washed. I had to walk,” Samritika Thakur told the Indian Express over the phone. He is the sub-divisional magistrate, Balh, and he has additional charge of Gohhar sub-division under which Talwara village falls.

The SDM’s phone has not stopped ringing since his visit to the victim’s place. “I have received at least 100 calls to adopt. People also wanted to help the child financially,” Samritika said. “We have given Neetika’s aunt a prior-gold amount of 25,000. Her mother and grandmother are missing. We will do it.

Wait for the last word on them before making the next legal formalities. ,
