Rajnath Singh meets Chinese counterpart, insisted on avoiding new complications in relationships

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has informed his Chinese counterpart Admiral Don June that India and China should maintain positive pace in bilateral relations and avoid adding new complications.

Singh had a “creative” conversation with Don on the edge of a Conclave of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) defense ministers in this Chinese port city on Thursday evening.

The Indian Defense Minister’s visit to China took place amid attempts to reset its relations after an understanding last October to end the military deadlock with the line of real control (LAC) in East Ladakh amid the efforts of both New Delhi and Beijing.

Singh said in a social media post on Friday, “China’s Defense Minister Admiral Dawn, along with June, on the occasion of the meeting of SCO Defense Ministers in Kingdao. There was a constructive and forwarding exchange of ideas about bilateral relations.”

He said, “After a gap of nearly six years, Kailash Mansarovar expressed my happiness over resuming the journey,” he said. He said, “It is focused on both sides to maintain this positive speed and avoid adding new complications to bilateral relations.”

Officials said that Singh also presented a Madhubani painting, called ‘Tree of Life’, which is a symbol of knowledge and vitality. Madhubani art painting is originated in Mithila region of Bihar. This painting is a symbol of knowledge and vitality.

According to a Chinese readout, Singh said in a meeting with Dawn that India does not seek conflict or conflict with China, and is ready to promote mutual confidence for stable development of bilateral relations properly, handling the difference, communication and bilateral relations.

Kingdao’s Singh’s visit was with the resumption of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in Tibet. This is happening after a gap of about five years.

The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was initially suspended in 2020 due to the Kovid -19 epidemic and later due to military deadlock between the two sides on the line of real control (LAC) in East Ladakh.
The pilgrimage of Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake in the Tibet Autonomous region of China has religious significance for Hindus as well as Jains and Buddhists.

The military deadlock in eastern Ladakh began in May 2020, and in June that year, a deadly struggle in the Galvan Valley resulted in a severe decline in relations between the two neighbors.
