Road -opening parties, CCTV monitoring on the route, and increasing strength of paramilitary forces – these are the security details of this year’s Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
The first batch of pilgrims located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas is located on the pilgrimage site – on the morning of July 2, Bhagwati Nagar Yatri will leave the foundation.
There is heavy security in Jammu ahead of the yatra – apart from Jammu and Kashmir Police, 180 units of paramilitary forces have been deployed, Inspector General of Police of Jammu Zone Bhim Sen Tuti told the media. This year the new security details include the road-opening parties, who presided over a high-level meeting to review the security arrangements with the Divisional Commissioner of IGP, with the IGP, with Jammu Ramesh Kumar’s Divisional Commissioner. They have been deployed under the authority of the National Highway from Lakhanpur to Banihal.
The official said that the route is subject to CCTV surveillance.
“Better arrangements are also being made this year, whether the number of paramilitary forces and their deployment in sensitive areas, or CCTV monitoring,” he said. “Everything from road -opening parties to the installation of CCTV cameras has been installed. Security has also been provided at the langar, lodging center.”
From July 2, the traffic police will issue a daily advice about the movement of the journey, he said, saying that the cut off timing will be fixed for its crossing at all points. He said, “Pilgrims should follow the advisor to avoid any problem or discomfort to participate in the journey.”
