The National Commission for Schedule Castase (NCSC) on Thursday wrote Bihar Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) amid a controversy of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, which Dr. Bribedkar’s portrait is allegedly derogatory.

After a video of Lalu’s birthday celebration, there was a dispute, which was allegedly near Lalu’s feet to a party supporter. A party was showing a supporter to keep Ambedkar’s portrait.

On 13 June, Bihar State Commission for Schedule Castase had already issued a notice to the video, asking Lalu to “explain his side within 15 days”. The State Commission said that “the failure to respond will be deliberately interpreted as an insult” and “registration of a case under the” SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act “.

The ruling BJP and NDA colleagues criticized the incident, and accused Lalu of “insulting the architect of the Constitution” and “hurting Dalit feelings”.

Bihar Vice President Emperor Chaudhary called it “unattainable insult”.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Lajpi (Ram Vilas) MP Sabastipur Sambhavi Chaudhary, and other NDA leaders also said that the act was “humiliating” and “derogatory” for Dalits.

BJP leaders have extended this issue on social media and demanded public apology from the founder of RJD.

Meanwhile, the RJD rejected the allegations as politically motivated, party spokesperson Mitunjay Tiwari claimed that the video is “being incorrectly presented to the voters to polarize and Lalu’s image has been rejected before the elections”.
