Rusty Old 'Hand Grenade' recovered in front of fire station in Agartala City | Bharat News

A rustic Old device, suspected to have a hand grenade, was recovered on Friday in front of a fire station near Aarartala’s largest wholesale market Maharajganj market.

The suspected grenade was first seen by Amalman Amal Chakraborty, a fireman of Maharajganj Fire Station, who claimed that it was covered in the mud and had a heavy rust.

“I don’t know that it was live. After seeing this, I informed the police and other people of the fire station,” Chakraborty told reporters.

Police personnel of East Agartala station, special branch, bomb squad and forensic experts reached the spot. After the examination, the area was declared safe and safe for the movement of people.

In addition to the Tripura Police Dhruba Nath, the SP said that according to their preliminary inspection, the grenade is likely to be 30–40 years old, and its spring system was absent.
